"NOG Emerges!" Work of art in progress.  Oils on wood.  Rhythmistic painting by Turtel Onli in anticipation of a NOG themed solo exhibition in the coming future. NOG was created as the first Rhythmistic Future-Primitif character by Onli in 1978 and published as the Graphic Novel in 1981 that opened the door to the impactful indie Black age of Comics genre. Visit ONLI STUDIOS.

An iconic image from the first NOG Graphic Novel outside the Museum of Contemporary Art to promote the Summer & Fall 2021 group exhibition, "Chicago Comics: 1960 until Now!"  This honor is a tribute to the innovative and intellectual power Onli's Rhythmistic future-primitif approaches offers this unique genre.

The opulent hybrid of Visual and Literary Art that is the comic-book or Graphic Novel had long needed content and styles that were derived form the Black, African, Urban or Alternative experience.  Onli asserted both content and styles in 1978 with the creation and launch of NOG.

This expanded the mainstream comics-related industry forever!

Sold in limited editions form ONLI STUDIOS via its Graphic Novels' Tab.
